In the spring of 2021, Thomas Burkhardt discovered his true Maverick purpose and vision. With more than 34 years of hardscape construction experience, 30 years leading a multi-crew team, and millions in revenue generation, Burkhardt started his new venture unconventionally, with contracts in hand before a name had even been selected.

Within a few short weeks, Burkhardt decided upon the name Maverick Hardscapes to reflect the uncommon path taken to its origination.

Today Maverick Hardscapes has grown to 18 full time staff and more than 10 crews in addition to key partnerships with highly respected softscape companies. Together, Maverick and their partners are honored to deliver an unparalleled level of quality and service to every client.

MARCO GARCIA

Construction Manager

Hello, my name is Marco García, I have been working in construction in the USA since 2011. Before that I worked in Mexico for over 3 years where I started as a Mason in Hardscapes work as well as working in concrete.  In 2018 I was promoted to Superintendent and have been fortunate to continue since.  I love challenges and constantly try to have good personal growth.  My biggest hobby is working with cars; I love cars, engines, everything related to some type of mechanics.  When I’m not working I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

Hunter Rivera

Hi, I’m Hunter Rivera—an 11-year U.S. Air Force veteran who brings dedication, attention to detail, and strong follow-through to every project. Building on my military experience, I’ve developed a specialized skill set in hardscape development and commercial playground installations. As a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, I’m committed to creating safe, high-quality play environments where kids can thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and boys, hitting the golf course, or relaxing on the lake with family.

Brad Shelton

Hey y’all, I’m Brad Shelton. I was born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in the scenic mountains of East Tennessee. As a Superintendent at Maverick, I’m on-site daily, helping turn our clients’ visions into reality—work that’s both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I’m a proud dad to four amazing daughters and one awesome son, and I’m lucky to share life with my beautiful wife, Hailey, and our three dogs. When I’m not on the job, you’ll usually find me watching football or spending time with family and friends.

Jaxon Babbit

I’m Jaxon Babbitt, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I currently work as a Superintendent at Maverick, where I manage day-to-day operations across multiple job sites. My role involves coordinating teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, and keeping projects on schedule. I’m engaged to my amazing fiancée, Morgan, and we share a beautiful daughter together.  Outside of work, I enjoy spending time fishing, hunting, and watching sports.

ROSEANNE LUNA

Project Coordinator/Manager

I have been working in the construction industry since 2016, it has been a great experience and I look forward to many more years in this trade.  I have been fortunate to work with people who have taught me a great deal and have proven excellent coworkers and friends.  When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking with my husband, and working out when I can. I’m a sucker for gummy bears and sushi.

Hello, my name is Christina Salazar. My construction experience began at an early age. I grew up in the residential construction industry and over the years I’ve been involved in every aspect of the business from accounting, bidding, and even getting down and dirty in the field. I’ve most recently dived into project coordinating for commercial construction, and I am constantly learning and loving the challenges it presents. Outside of Maverick I enjoyed spending time with my family, live music, singing, cooking, and traveling.

Hello, my name is Angelica Martinez. I’ve been part of the construction industry for nearly two years and have gained a strong foundation of knowledge that I’m excited to keep building on. I thrive on new challenges and genuinely enjoy connecting with our clients. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing a project come to life from beginning to end. Outside of work, I love cheering on my daughter at volleyball games, watching movies with popcorn and pickles, and soaking up the energy of live music.

Hello, I’m Sarah Lively. Growing up in the ranching and real estate industries sparked my early interest in land development and laid the foundation for my career. That passion led me into commercial property management, where I gained hands-on experience across a wide range of construction scopes. Today, I’m proud to serve as a Project Coordinator at Maverick, where I bring organization, adaptability, and a strong work ethic to every project. Outside of work, you’ll find me enjoying the outdoors and spending quality time with family and friends.

Hi, I’m Hailey Shelton! In 2023, I made an exciting career shift into the construction industry and haven’t looked back. Working in estimating has been a perfect fit—combining my love for numbers, sharp attention to detail, and passion for continuous learning. I’m no stranger to hard work and dedication, both in and out of the office. At home, life is full wrangling five amazing kids and three energetic dogs who keep me on my toes. I’m proud to be part of the incredible team at Maverick and look forward to growing and contributing every day.

Hello, I’m Brenda Limon. I bring a diverse background to the Maverick estimating team, with experience ranging from event planning and contract work to logistics. I enjoy putting these skills to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and am excited to continue growing alongside Maverick’s success. Outside of the office, I cherish time with family and friends. You’ll often find me cheering on my grandchildren at their sporting events or enjoying a ride through the countryside on the back of my husband’s Harley.

I’ve been working in the construction industry since 2017, with the majority of my experience spent as a Tower Technician—a role I held for approximately eight years prior to joining Maverick. I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the team and am eager to grow professionally within the company. I look forward to taking on new challenges and advancing my career in this dynamic environment. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing my passion for working on vehicles.

Hi, I’m Parker Clinton, Yard Manager at Maverick. I’m driven by a strong desire to grow and succeed in my career, always ready to take on new challenges. In addition to the day-to-day activities; managing inventory, logistics, and equipment maintenance at the yard, I utilize my CAT equipment certification to train the Maverick crew members heavy machinery operation. Outside of work, you’ll find me watching or playing sports, enjoying live music, grilling with family and friends, and most importantly, making my son smile. I’m excited to continue learning and contributing to the Maverick team every day.

My name is Thomas Burkhardt.  I’ve been in the construction industry for 34 years each one better than the last.   In the last 23 years I’ve become an expert in the hardscape industry pushing the threshold of common construction practices.  I pride myself of coming up with solution for the clients and construction team to create efficiencies, cost savings and aesthetic appeal. I’m honored to say I’ve assembled the best team at Maverick.  My passion grows in this industry and I’ve been blessed to say I have the best clients in town.  In my spare time I enjoy working, remodeling, golfing and traveling with my wife Shelly.
